About me

A budding social scientist, currently pursuing my Doctoral studies at Centre of Excellence in Teacher Education (formerly CEIAR) at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. In my current research, I am exploring multimodal figurative expressions among bilingual children between ages 9 and 11 that they use in their day to language. This research is important because, children's figurative uses may help us better understand the connections they make between different ideas in their surroundings which are reflected in their figurative language use. This has implications on the way we may introduce them to new concepts and ideas.

I manage a blog on Multilingualism in India which details research based discussion on the multilingual character in India and its relation with educational pedagogy. Link to blog:  https://multilinguaminds.wordpress.com/

A member of an online reading group on Childhood Studies in India that meets monthly to discuss literature in the area.

In the past, I have worked with organizations such as Eklavya (Bhopal), Katha (New Delhi); Teach for India, Anveshi Research Centre for Women's Studies, Ignis Careers (Hyderabad) and most recently was involved in creating an online course on experiential learning for CBSE teachers with Tata Trusts. The course can be accessed at www.diksha.gov.in
